Combo 62.
Combo 62 is the last of the combinations with this engine. 1.6:1 exhaust rockers, the 272° cam, and bowl-blended heads are used. This combination produces 349 HP and 390 ft-lbs of torque. |

Combo 63.
Combos 63-68 come from pages 70-74 of the May 1990 issue of Hot Rod Magazine. All six combinations use the same Lunati 408 cu. in. short block engine. Two different intakes are used, and three sets of heads are run. The cam is a fairly aggressive grind, but these combos still make some great torque.
Combo 63 uses reworked GM #441 heads and an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold. The heads have 2.02/1.60 in. valves, a little bowl-work, and a 3-angle valve job. |

Combo 64.
Combo 64 swaps the GM heads from Combo 63 for basic Brodix street heads. These heads are not the famous -8 heads but rather the most basic heads that Brodix makes. They have 165 cc intake runners and 2.02/1.60 in. valves. Due to the smaller combustion chambers, these heads made the compression ratio jump up to 10.2:1. This amount of compression is no problem with aluminum heads because of their readiness to dissipate heat and stop pre-detonation. Perhaps mostly due to the increased compression, this combination made 13 more HP and 18 more ft-lbs of torque than the GM heads. |

Combo 65.
Combo 65 uses Brodix -8 heads. These heads have 185 cc intake runners and 2.05/1.60 in. valves. With the same 64 cc chambers as the entry-level Brodix heads, this combination had 10.2:1 compression also. This engine produced 410 HP and 476 ft-lbs of torque. |

Combo 66.
Combos 66 goes back to the reworked GM heads, but uses an Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake instead. The combination makes 393 HP and 434 ft-lbs. This is 9 more HP and 14 less ft-lbs of torque than Combo 63, with the same heads and Performer RPM intake.
For this engine, the Victor Jr. proves to be a top-end intake, while the Performer RPM has a more low and mid-range torque for the street. In Combos 4-7, the Victor Jr. still made more low-end torque than the Edelbrock Performer intake. This was a little unexpected, since the Performer is depicted as a great torque-producing intake. Anyhow, with this stroker engine, the Victor Jr. did not make as much torque as the Performer RPM intake. |
